Manager, Youth Justice Manuals – Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria
About the Role
Leading a team of policy and project staff to develop high‑quality policy and practical guidance for operational staff through Youth Justice Manuals. Contribute to improving outcomes for justice‑involved young people in Victoria.
Opportunity
- Ongoing, full‑time position based in Melbourne.
- VPS Grade 6 : $138,631 – $185,518 per year plus superannuation.
- Subject‑matter expertise in operational policy development, procedural guidance and implementation across Youth Justice.
- Identify and address new and emerging complex, sensitive issues with system‑wide impacts; integrate solutions across the department and other agencies.
- Represent Youth Justice and the department at relevant forums within and outside government.
- Strategic leadership in developing the Community and Custodial Youth Justice manuals, ensuring guidance reflects contemporary best practice and supports key legislation, policies and reforms.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality work within required timeframes.Sound knowledge or experience in Victorian government administrative processes.Proven track record in public sector management and project or program delivery.Knowledge and / or experience relating to the Youth Justice environment and contemporary best practice is required.Relevant tertiary qualification in public policy, social sciences, criminology, law and / or project management is desirable.Working with Children Check required for the role.Benefits
