The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Product Design Manager to direct and scale the product design capability within the Product & Experience team.

This leadership role sets the product design strategy, establishes standards and frameworks, and leads multidisciplinary teams to deliver customer-focused, omni-channel experiences. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, and executives to embed evidence-led practices, ensuring product design aligns to enterprise strategy, operational priorities, and community outcomes.

Key responsibilities include :

• Design strategy : Define product design roadmaps and align to enterprise priorities.
• Evidence-led practice : Institutionalise human-centred design and embed customer voice across decision-making.
• Business impact : Ensure design contributes directly to measurable organisational and community outcomes.
• Design operations : Lead governance, tooling, and resourcing to ensure efficiency and scale.
• Team leadership : Mentor, coach, and grow product designers, building a high-performing design culture.
• Influence & communication : Translate complex design concepts into clear, compelling stories for executives and stakeholders.

The Right Fit

This role suits a senior design leader with a balance of strategic vision, operational rigour, and people leadership.

To be successful, you will bring :

11+ years’ experience in product design, with at least 5+ years leading product teams

A strong portfolio showcasing complex, multi-disciplinary design leadership

Advanced design thinking expertise and experience with scalable design systems

Proven track record embedding user-centred design in enterprise or regulated environments

Exceptional storytelling, facilitation, and executive engagement skills

Tertiary qualifications in design or related discipline, with formal Product / UX / UI design training preferred
