The Skills Reform Taskforce (the Taskforce) is responsible for leading the development of a new Commonwealth-State arrangement, including funding arrangements, new performance metrics and working across Skills Group on reforms to quality, industry engagement, apprenticeships and foundation skills in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

The Taskforce currently consists of three branches to drive forward reforms to improve the transparency of VET funding, as well as work across the Skills and Training Group and other key VET system reforms such as Jobs and Skills Australia. In addition, the Taskforce supports work with states and territories across the Skills Group to develop VET policy that requires state and territory agreement.

Successful applicants will be become an integral part of a driven and caring team located across Australia. There are a number of APS 4 policy and program officer vacancies across the Taskforce. Applicants are asked to indicate particular areas of interest. A merit pool will be created from this process and may be used to fill similar vacancies that become available.
