Overview
The Compliance Manager is responsible for leading Amused Group’s AML / CTF compliance function as the appointed AML / CTF Compliance Officer under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth). The role will oversee the ongoing implementation of the Group’s AML / CTF Program and AML Uplift Plan to address the AML / CTF reforms, ensuring that policy updates, system improvements and control frameworks are effectively embedded across the business in line with AUSTRAC expectations. In addition, the role will provide oversight across broader regulatory compliance areas, supporting the Chief Legal Officer in ensuring an enterprise-wide compliance culture.

Responsibilities
- AML / CTF Compliance
- Act as the Company’s AML / CTF Compliance Officer (AMLCO) under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth).
- Lead the delivery of Amused Group’s AML / CTF Uplift Plan, ensuring that program enhancements and system improvements are embedded effectively across the business.
- Lead the ongoing implementation and maintenance of the AML / CTF Program, ensuring that policies, procedures, and controls operate effectively across all business units and remain aligned with legislative obligations and AUSTRAC guidance.
- Oversee AUSTRAC reporting obligations, including Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) and annual compliance reports.
- Own, maintain and ensure effective operation of the AML / CTF Program.
- Monitor AUSTRAC guidance, regulatory developments and enforcement trends and proactively advise management on emerging obligations and risks.
- Partner with Financial Crime Operations, Analytics and Technology teams to ensure effective operation of AML / CTF systems, controls and data quality frameworks.
- Co-ordinate the periodic independent review of the AML / CTF Program and manage any liaison with AUSTRAC where required.
- General Compliance
- Support the Chief Legal Officer in implementing an enterprise-wide compliance framework covering wagering, licensing, responsible gambling, privacy and consumer protection obligations.
- Maintain and continuously improve group compliance policies, procedures and registers to ensure alignment with legislative and licence requirements.
- Provide compliance input into new product launches, marketing initiatives and system changes to ensure regulatory requirements are addressed at design stage.
- Contribute to risk assessments across multiple functions (e.g. AML, fraud, RG, payments) and support business units in developing practical controls to mitigate compliance risks.
- Governance & Reporting
- Prepare and deliver compliance reports to the CLO and Executive Leadership Team, highlighting key risks, incidents and program performance metrics.
- Establish and maintain effective compliance assurance and quality-testing processes, including sample reviews and issue tracking.
- Escalate any material compliance breaches and incidents promptly, ensuring remediation actions are defined, owned and completed.
- Support independent reviews, internal audits, and regulatory engagement activities, ensuring all findings are logged and tracked to resolution.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years’ AML / CTF compliance experience.Deep knowledge of AML / CTF Act, Rules and AUSTRAC guidance.Proven ability to design, implement and manage AML / CTF Programs.Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills.Familiarity with wagering and gambling regulatory frameworks is desirable.Curious and analytical – actively seeks to understand business operations, emerging risks, and regulatory developments, asking the right questions to uncover issues and opportunities.Thought leader – demonstrates independent judgement and insight, contributing to the continuous improvement of compliance frameworks and influencing best practice within the organisation and the wider industry.Pragmatic problem solver – able to balance regulatory obligations with commercial realities, offering solutions that are both compliant and operationally practical.Resilient and composed – maintains professionalism and sound decision-making under pressure or in the face of competing priorities.Collaborative communicator – builds strong, trusting relationships with business partners, regulators and executive stakeholders.Values and behaviours
