War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital located in Waverley, owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services include 24‑hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, iREAP Day Rehabilitation program, specialist community teams including Transitional Aged Care, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, and day centre program. WMH is supported by a collaborative team environment.

This RN position is a casual role within the inpatient aged care rehabilitation ward. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high‑quality specialist nursing care for aged‑care rehabilitation patients, ensuring safe and competent care under the guidelines of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve patient‑centric goals and health outcomes. The RN supports the WMH model of care and reports to the Nurse Unit Manager, receiving support from the NUM, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Clinical Care Co‑ordinator, and Clinical Nurse Educator.

Selection Criteria

• Current Registered Nursing enrolment with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal and time‑management skills with an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to personal and professional development
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality patient care to older patients using critical thinking
• Demonstrated understanding of aged‑care rehabilitation
• High level of commitment to patient safety and quality improvementMinimum 1 year experience working as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting

Additional Information

All Category A NSW Health workers are required to have received an annual seasonal influenza vaccination or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. COVID‑19 vaccinations are strongly recommended for all NSW Health workers.
