Our vision is to be the preferred steel fabricator by combining quality products with first-class communication, detailing and manufacturing systems.
The Opportunity Reporting to the Director, the General Manager will take full P&L and operational responsibility for our Kwinana Beach facility and onsite activities.
You will lead across the workforce and subcontractors required to delivery projects, varying from boilermakers, riggers, estimators and professional staff, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of our structural steel projects.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy – Set direction, embed a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement, and contribute to corporate strategy and Balanced-Scorecard objectives.
Production & Scheduling – Own the master production schedule, leveraging Strumis and / or Asana to achieve On Time In Full (OTIF) targets.
Estimating – Assist in tendering, cost control and contract negotiations; ensure accurate, competitive bids for structural steel projects.
Client & Stakeholder Management – Build strong relationships with builders, engineers, suppliers and regulators within the Perth market.
Operational Excellence – Drive LEAN / 5S initiatives, optimise supply-chain and workshop workflows in conjunction with workshop leading hand, and steward CAPEX for plant upgrades.
What You'll Bring Senior leadership experience (Ops Mgr, Plant Mgr, GM) in heavy / structural steel fabrication.
Hands-on proficiency with Strumis (or equivalent) and advanced project-scheduling tools.
Solid background in structural-steel estimating, reading shop drawings, architectural, mechanical and structural engineering drawings and compiling winning tenders (to be done in conjunction with Director).
Expert knowledge of Australian Standards (AS 4100, AS 1554), welding codes and erection methodologies.
Proven track record delivering profit growth, managing budgets and KPI reporting.
Existing WA industry network (construction, mining, infrastructure) highly regarded.
