- Purpose of Position
Hexagon is seeking a Product Manager for Geoscience to spearhead the growth of our industry-leading mine planning and geoscience products within the mining division. This role is perfect for someone with a keen interest in technology solutions and a mission to develop innovative technologies and processes that enhance the quality, productivity, and recovery of resources in the mining industry.
- Major Areas of Responsibility
- Drive the complete lifecycle of our geoscience product line, catering to the unique needs of geologists and geoscientists in mining operations while ensuring strong commercial viability.
- Identify and evaluate new product opportunities and build the product roadmap based on industry and market trends, focusing on their potential commercial success and alignment with geological professionals' challenges.
- Utilize a deep understanding of the competitive landscape to develop effective product marketing strategies, explore lucrative partnerships, and identify potential merger and acquisition opportunities.
- Develop and execute growth objectives and strategies for new and existing geology-focused products, aligning them with commercial goals.
- Determine optimal product pricing, recurring revenue streams, cost targets, and profitability for both new and existing geoscience solutions.
- Collaborate closely with industry groups and customers to define features and requirements that cater to the specific needs of geology professionals in the mining sector while considering market demand.
- Craft and execute comprehensive global and regional go-to-market plans and service and support strategies to achieve commercial success.
- Identify integration opportunities for geology-focused products within internal business units to maximize commercial synergies.
- Explore and cultivate ecosystem opportunities with external / third-party integrators that generate added value for Hexagon and our geology clientele.
- Lead a matrixed team of developers, engineers, sales and marketing, and service and support professionals to achieve product management goals, ensuring commercial objectives are met.
- Knowledge and Experience - Required
- Capability to execute with granular focus while aligning product strategies with broader geology and commercial objectives.
- Possess an excellent eye for UI / UX design and the ability to effectively communicate with software designers and developers to create customer-centric user experiences for geology professionals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, adapting messaging to resonate with different stakeholders, from geology professionals to executives and developers, while emphasizing commercial benefits.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring market requirements are met with precision.
- Demonstrated domain expertise with at least 5+ years of experience in product management or related fields, with a focus on geology and geoscience.
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in geology, geoscience, earth sciences, or related fields, or 10+ years of experience working in mining operations with a geology emphasis.
- Strong people management skills, including the ability to effectively manage remote teams across multiple time zones.
- Possess excellent organizational skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong work ethic, essential for successfully executing commercial-focused initiatives.
- Willingness to travel to remote mining locations and occasionally participate in activities located in surface and underground mining environments, gaining valuable insights into geological challenges in different mining environments.
