Our client operates a well-established open-cut mine site that is supported by a West Perth head office and in this newly created role, you'll be responsible for delivering HR Support and leadership to both.
The Superintendent - Culture, Development and Human Resources is all about delivering face to face service to a mine site with approximately 350 staff.
From a culture perspective - your accountability extends to developing, building and implementing programs to build culture on site. Our client takes culture seriously and you'll be supported by the site GM and Head Office in delivering these programs that will ultimately feed into attraction and retention strategies.
From a development perspective, you'll be charged with developing and delivering leadership training programs to site leaders - some of whom are new to leadership. You'll also be supporting site supervisors in the execution of their roles including the use of business systems.
And from a HR perspective - how long is a piece of string?! You have a small team of payroll staff reporting to you in Head Office and you'll spend some of your time working closely with them and developing their skills.
You'll advise the business regarding HR & IR matters as the most senior HR practitioner in the business. You'll supervise the recruitment function, ensure compliance with audits, EA's, legislation, taxation, performance reviews, performance management support, rem and ben - the list goes on. Your generalist skills will be put to good use!
This is an incredibly important role to our client. You'll be a 'glue' helping hold the business together. It is front facing, not an 'office job' and we aim to recruit someone with a fire in their belly, a hardworking mindset and an infectious personality. You'd have seen how culture and development programs can really change the way a site operates and their impact on safety and you'd have seen how good, supportive HR makes a site operate so much better.
Your roster will give you ample opportunity to be on site the majority of the time but also to work with your local team in West Perth. You'll be delivering reports and advice to the board while setting a vision for the asset - a true double act!
