The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is Australia's national criminal intelligence agency. We advise senior decision makers on serious and organised crime impacting Australia. We are a full member of the National Intelligence Community, an Attorney General's Portfolio agency, and a member of the Five Eyes Law Enforcement Group.

Workforce Capability and Assurance provides a key enabling function, supporting the development of agency capability and providing the agency with the assurance that it continues to meet its legislative obligations. The branch is responsible for the delivery of all human resource and people strategies, as well as protecting the agency, its people and its capabilities through an integrated protective security and integrity function. Workforce Capability and Assurance supports employee wellbeing, as well as provides critical support to intelligence operations by oversighting the agency's use of certain powers, ensuring legislative compliance and contributing to operational outcomes.
The Security Officer is responsible for supporting protective security operations and providing advice to ACIC Executive and staff in accordance with Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and agency-specific risks. Security Officer may be responsible for PERSEC, PHYSEC and / or GOVSEC within the Security & Integrity Team including the identification, development and implementation of innovative risk-based approaches to protective security management processes as an important focus. The Security Officer provides a broad range of administrative support to the Security & Integrity team in support of the department's obligations and requirements under the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
It includes liaison and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on protective security policies, guidelines and procedures as well as contributing to the management of protective security at the ACIC.
The role is an exciting opportunity to assist in driving a contemporary security culture in a diverse organisation. The duties of this position may require interstate travel and on-call arrangements outside normal business hours. The position requires its occupant to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity, professionalism and impartiality in carrying out their duties.
