The Role

We are looking for a Solicitor or Associate with at 3-5 years’ PQE experience to join our collaborative Corporate & Commercial team. Supported by leading Partners in their field, our team provides legal solutions to private and government clients. You will work with Partner, Adam Henderson.

In this role you will gain hands-on experience working on a variety of complex projects across a broad portfolio of clients. You can expect to have a diverse experience where you will be exposed to corporate advisory and transaction work (e.g. M&A), general commercial advice and contracting, and complex government procurement (including whole of government).

Our team regularly advises on various M&A deals (typical deal value ranging from $5m to $100m plus). The team is currently finalising a large M&A which has an IPO element as well. We also assist early stage businesses including with structuring and raising funds. For government business, our team advises on $100s of millions in funding and grant arrangements each year. We also advise on complex government procurement (including whole of government). This includes innovation projects (e.g. autonomous vehicles).

What You Offer :

We are looking for a Solicitor who will bring energy and innovation to Hicksons. The ideal candidate will have :

Previous experience and background in Corporate & Commercial, with preference for either (or both) corporate (e.g. shareholder agreements, M&A) or government business (e.g. procurement, commercial agreements)

• Critical and reflective approach to problem-solving with an ability to identify risk,
• Ability to provide input on commercial strategy in negotiating and structuring deals,
• Willingness to participate and enhance your business development skills,
• Desire to grow and develop with our team and;
• An ability to build effective working relationships with clients.
