Disability support workers provide support services that fulfil the living, social and reactional requirements and needs of people living with a disability. To enable personal development and honing of skills, a carer will promote community interaction and inclusion, independence, personal growth and decision making.
- Key responsibilities and duties :
- Promote residents participate in age appropriate activities and tasks within the community and at home
- To help the resident engage in outings and daily activities and promote involvement in the community
- Provide direct care in accordance with the NDIS plan
- Abide by the medication administration policy, WHS procedures and client rights policies
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of resident by reporting any issues and concerns to the appropriate persons
- Provide 1 : 1 care or small group support
- Ensure documentation and information relating to the resident is accurately and appropriately recorded
