- We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to manage state operations for a key grocery client in Perth. This role is essential in managing and developing the team's ability to achieve the desired strategic, operational, and commercial outcomes for the business, along with managing and enhancing customer relations. You will re engineer processes and systems whilst coaching and developing your teams and creating a streamline and effective relationship with key customers, in your transport operations.
- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DECISIONS / LEVEL OF AUTHORITY- Manage the transport and distribution operation of a region within agreed contractual parameters to deliver quality best in class service.-
- Through CI tools and Lean measurement, ensure that service levels are met and that the customer relationship management is met;-
- Conduct regular meetings with customers to review productivity levels and enable ongoing improvement of systems and procedures-
- Ensure that contract performance complies with senior management directives, customer policies and statutory regulations at all times-
- Ensure implemented and supervised inventory reviews, audits and stocktakes (as applicable)-
- Increase and maintain the profitability of State Operations and the relevant Business Units by controlling day to day operating costs and maximising revenue through development of improved efficiencies and additional revenue streams-
- In line with the Toll Global strategic focus, proactively identify and approach and develop business opportunities.-
- Regularly review contract performance and forecasts against initial budgets.-
- Develop a proactive and continual improvement process with accounts in the portfolio by identifying all service and cost leverage opportunities that improve service / value for the customer's expectation.-
- Ensure effective implementation of these strategies respecting both the needs of the customer and State and Divisional capability to deliver at acceptable margins.-
- Managing the transport and distribution within agreed contractual parameters to deliver quality customer service.-
- Analyse weekly profit & loss statement; identify errors and / or abnormal / unacceptable cost or significant variations from budget, and direct / initiate remedial action.-
- Regularly overview customer contract performance and forecast against initial budgets, and devise strategies to improve performance.- ACCOUNTABILITIES- Set priorities, budgets and plans to achieve overall unit strategy, goals and targets- Assess, optimise and develop capability and resources- Balance capabilities to achieve the strategy- Create and develop own initiatives for growth and innovation- Collaborate to promote and build acceptance of these across the business by providing the necessary leadership and resources- Set and manage standards and performance expectations for front line or work group leadership to ensure the highest standards of excellence in customer service, reliability and efficiency, and sustainability in safety and environmental performance.- Maximise profitability by linking management goals and standards with the practical means of achievement in a high impact operation or area of the business which drives significant improvement in profitability.- Ensure frontline or work group leadership have a customer first mindset and the operation is set up to put the customer first especially when linking with other operations or businesses to provide the service
