The Division of Surgery is responsible for delivering inpatient and outpatient surgical services to the ACT and surrounding region. The Division includes Surgical Bookings and Pre-Admission Clinic, Anaesthesia, Pain Management Unit, Operating Theatres, Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit, Day Surgery Unit and Extended Day Surgery Unit, specialist surgical ward areas, medical and nursing outpatient services, ACT Trauma Service, Intensive Care Unit, Capital Region Retrieval Service and the Trauma and Orthopaedic Research Unit. These Units are supported by administration support officers.
The Perioperative Contracts and Procurement Manager will report directly to the Operations Manager, with strong involvement from the Perioperative Assistant Director of Nursing.
The Perioperative Contracts and Procurement Manager undertakes key activities to support the procurement and contract management of consumables and equipment within the perioperative suite, with a particular focus on high value procurement of goods and services, in line with relevant policies and procedures. This includes ensuring items are delivered on time and within budget, whilst minimising impacts to clinical services.
A key element will be engaging with internal and external stakeholders and managing stakeholders' expectations to deliver agreed outcomes.
