Patient Services Assistant

Subiaco Private Hospital is an accredited multi-disciplinary hospital that provides 2 operating theatres to offer a broad range of surgical services for all patients. The Hospital was opened in 2010 and has since built a well-deserved reputation for excellence in clinical care throughout the Perth community. Specialty fields include ENT, Otology, Plastic & Reconstructive, Ophthalmic, Oral and Maxillofacial and General Surgery.

We are seeking an experienced Patient Services Assistant (PSA) for a permanent part-time position to provide support to the nursing team to undertake a range of services that supports the well-being of patients, visitors, staff and others.

• Strong knowledge of manual handling and infection control principles especially related to cleaning and food handling practices
• The ability to maintain confidentiality
• Be empathetic and courteous at all times
• The ability to be innovative, show initiative and work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• An enthusiastic approach in the delivery of a high standard of care
• Essential criteria
• Certificate III in Health Services essential
• Previous experience in an PSA Service or similar position
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in regard to safe manual handling techniques, including patient transfers.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in regard to surface cleaning practices and techniques
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in regard to safe food handling practices and techniques
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in regard to infection control practice and principles
• Demonstrated ability to work in a manner which preserves patient confidentiality and dignity
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and show initiative
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and interdependently in a team environment
• Demonstrated exemplary communication skills
• Demonstrated willingness & flexible approach to work requirements and changing work practices
• Demonstrated positive, can-do attitude and approach to working as part of a team
• Demonstrated knowledge of safe working
• Current first aid - desirable
