Total Remuneration Package - $250,000.00 - $270,000.00 About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Defence training and education professional to support the design, delivery, and evaluation of complex training programs within a joint-service environment. This Canberra-based role involves occasional domestic travel and requires deep expertise in the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL), instructional design, and Defence-specific learning platforms.
Key Responsibilities Conduct Training Needs Analyses (TNA) to identify capability gaps and inform training solutionsDesign, develop, and evaluate instructional material aligned to SADL methodologyDeliver high-quality training programs in both face-to-face and blended environmentsUtilise Defence LMS and LCMS systems to manage and track learning contentCollaborate with stakeholders across services to ensure training outcomes are aligned with Defence capability objectivesApply agile project management principles in training development initiativesSupport the integration of LVC simulation systems and digital learning technologies into coursewareCertificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or Defence-recognised equivalent)Active NV1 Security Clearance (minimum)Minimum 10 years' experience delivering Defence-related education and trainingDemonstrated knowledge of SADL and contemporary Defence training methodologiesProven experience across instructional design, course delivery, and training evaluationStrong written and verbal communication skills suited to Defence and joint environmentsOperational experience with Defence LMS / LCMS platformsUnderstanding of simulation-based training and blended learning deliveryHighly Desirable NV2 Security Clearance15+ years' experience in complex Defence or joint-service education environmentsMaster's degree in adult education, workforce development, or related fieldExperience with LVC simulation systems and other emerging training technologiesFamiliarity with agile project methodologies in Defence or Government projectsUnderstanding of RAAF training continua and Defence workforce planning frameworksWork Location & Travel This role is based in Canberra, with regular domestic travel to Mawson Lakes (Adelaide), and potential short-term travel to Newcastle and Darwin.
