Floor Finisher Apprenticeships - Northern Areas

These are full time positions. As a Floor Finishing Apprentice you will undertake a Certificate 3 in Flooring Technology, this is a 4 year Apprenticeship.

As a Floor Finishing Apprentice you will install floors or flooring materials in residential or commercial premises. You will use a range of technical knowledge to perform skilled work involving known routines, methods and procedures. You may also :

• Carry out measurements and calculations
• Receive and prepare flooring materials
• Read and interpret work documents
• Establish and maintain safe flooring installation work areas
• Plan and cost flooring technology work
• Install soft carpet underlays and grippers
• Install unpatterned tufted carpet
• Install carpet on complex stairs
• Install engineered timber flooring
• Install mouldings and edge trims to timber flooring
• Plan and implement maintenance systems for timber, laminate and engineered flooring
• Install timber flooring materials to stairs
