About the role Revolut Australia is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead and optimise our core operational functions, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with our overall business objectives.
In this leadership role, you'll oversee four key areas : outsourcing, banking and payment operations, technology (including info sec and cyber), and data, driving innovation and excellence within each domain.
You will be a key member of our executive team, reporting directly to the CEO, and will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our operations. We seek a leader with a proven track record in building and scaling operations, especially within fintech or financial services sectors.

What you'll be doing Overseeing banking operations, technology strategy and implementation, data management and analytics, and complaints Developing and executing a comprehensive outsourcing strategy compliant with relevant regulations and data security standards Managing relationships with external vendors across various operational functions Negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded Leading operational aspects of Revolut Australia's banking services and payment features, such as account opening, transaction processing, and lending operations Managing relationships with banking partners, regulatory bodies (APRA), payment gateways, and other financial service providers Implementing controls to mitigate risks, including fraud and security related to payment transactions Ensuring compliance with KYC / AML regulations and industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS) Leading and developing banking and payment operations teams Driving digital transformation initiatives within operations, leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency Ensuring information security and cybersecurity controls are effective Overseeing collection, storage, and analysis of operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement Establishing KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance and optimize operations Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., Privacy Act 1988) and data security best practices Leading complaint handling and customer care for Revolut Australia's operations What you'll need A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, operations management, technology, or related field 10+ years of progressive leadership in operations, with focus on outsourcing, banking / payment operations, technology, and data Proven ability to develop and implement data management strategies ensuring data accuracy and accessibility Experience in operational strategies that drive efficiency and growth, preferably in fintech or financial services Deep understanding of banking / payment processing regulations in Australia, with international exposure Knowledge of technology infrastructure, software systems, and data management, including ERP and cloud technologies Experience managing vendor contracts, including international outsourcing Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a data-driven approach Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to collaborate globally Experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments with rapid growth and scaling Nice to have Familiarity with the Australian business environment and regulatory landscape Building a global financial super app isn't enough.
