About us
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
The ePMO Senior Analyst will be one of the foundational roles as the ePMO function looks to scale and broaden its remit. It will form part of a tight knit team, yet will have exposure and interaction with a vast array of stakeholders, and has the opportunity to bring new perspectives on how to best evolve processes, tools and approaches to governance more broadly.
On a day-today basis the role will be required to collect schedule, milestone, resourcing, commercial and other key data points from teams across the Department and therefore has a heavy reliance on information provided by PMOs, project managers and / or project teams. This role will then maintain data and knowledge repositories to form an enterprise-wide portfolio view of Department priorities.
Supported by tools, processes and governance mechanisms, the Senior Analyst tracks the progress of this portfolio broken down by programs, projects or commitments. When data or inputs are queried, the role will then work with project teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure information is up to date and messaging is clear when reporting back to governance forums. A key output of this analysis will be identifying dependencies across the various workstreams, as well as proactively identifying emerging risks.
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate :
- Proven experience in program and project delivery frameworks, governance methodologies and tools. Preferably in relation to data or ICT or service transformation projects
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders by anticipating, assessing, and meeting their needs and expectations. Demonstrated experience dealing with senior stakeholders.
- Advanced conceptual and analytical skills with an ability to analyse project or program data points, and provide recommendations or insights including the identification of risks across the portfolio, and assistance with mitigation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including in the preparation of submissions, reports and the ability to verbally express ideas effectively in individual and group situations; adjusting language to the characteristics and needs of the audience.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to deal with competing priorities, whilst actively contributing to collaborative teamwork
