Job description

Exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Adviser to join the Victorian Government's biggest shared service operation. The Common Corporate Support Branch (CCSB) provides corporate services and associated systems to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and the Department of Health (DH) under a shared services arrangement. While we're administratively housed within the Department of Health, CCSB forms part of the corporate services delivery capability of both departments. The position will work closely with staff across DFFH and DH to lift awareness and capability of the suite of available corporate systems, services and policies. Accountable to the Manager Workplace Tools, Advice and Support, you will collaborate with colleagues from across CCSB to meet the service requirements agreed with customers via the DFFH-DH Service Agreement and / or specific projects.

About the role :

  • You will ensure all documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials and advice to customers in relation to the service are regularly updated according to their own monitoring and reporting of service levels, staff and customer feedback, and will be responsible for the provision of all required reporting for each service.
  • You will lead through change and to drive and implement initiatives and efficiencies that will improve the delivery of services across the department and positively impact the customer service expectation of the department's employees.
  • The work is fast paced and would suit an individual who is able to achieve results whilst responding to a rapidly changing environment.

How you'll make a difference :

  • Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative cost-effective solutions to highly complex issues which reflect the needs of internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the departments to support the delivery of solutions that encourages and support new ways of working
  • Undertake the identification, analysis and review of stakeholder needs to determine the most appropriate solution and strategies to minimise impacts; accelerate change; and manage resistance.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate the flow of information across the department and with key external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
  • Respond productively to deliver solutions and outcomes in an organisational environment complicated by scale, heterogeneity, and complexity
  • Lead and support staff to build cross-skilling capabilities via effective utilisation of CCSB's flexible task allocation model.
