Our client is a highly profitable and successful ASX-listed mining company with plenty of growth to come.Role Opportunity The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the operational management and strategic execution of all mining, processing and related activities within a mid-cap iron ore miner.

Reporting to the Group CEO and working closely with the executive leadership team, the COO will ensure the company's operations are efficient, safe, cost-effective and aligned with corporate objectives.

Essential Qualifications & Skills Our client is looking for an accomplished mining executive with : Operational Leadership : 15+ years of progressive experience in mining operations, including leadership roles overseeing multiple sites or commodities.

Operational Excellence : Strong knowledge of mining processes, safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Financial Acumen : Experience managing operational budgets, optimising costs and delivering strong financial results.

Stakeholder Engagement : Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Innovative Mindset : A passion for integrating new technologies to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Duties & Responsibilities Collaborate with the ELT to develop and execute the company's strategic growth plans including new project development, expansions and diversification opportunities.

Oversee all aspects of mining operations, including processing plants, logistics and associated infrastructure as they transition to a fully self-performing model.

Drive operational efficiency, production optimisation and cost control while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Build internal capability across mine planning, asset utilisation, technology adoption and ESG.

Own the P&L, budgets and capital strategy to drive sustainable growth.

Champion sustainability and ensure compliance with environmental, regulatory and community requirements.

Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, indigenous groups and local communities.

Lead and mentor high-performing operational teams, promoting diversity, inclusion and innovation.
