The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Project Officer - Performance and Planning to provide a critical role at Dame Phyllis Frost Centre.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria is responsible for the implementation of policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Corrections Victoria also sets strategy, policy and standards for the management of the state's system of correctional facilities whilst also developing programs for the management and rehabilitation of prisoners and the community-based supervision of offenders.
As part of the CJS group, the DPFC is a 568-bed medium to maximum-security facility for female offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice.
About the Role
Reporting to the Performance and Planning Manager, the Project Officer is responsible for procedural compliance activities at the DPFC, including a strong focus on data collection, analysis, reporting and system support.
The Project Officer will lead the development of improvement strategies as required with a focus on service delivery.
The Project Officer will assist in the monitoring of performance and planning functions and promote a culture of performance improvement and risk management.
The Project Officer will also assist in the review of policies and procedures, ensuring consultation occurs, and prepare complex correspondence and will engage in effective stakeholder management.
This position may require direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.
