About North East Link
The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.
The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.
The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.
About the Opportunity
To will support the delivery of the North East Link Central Package, we are seeking an experienced StructuresSupervisor to join our team. The role is required for immediate start and candidates must be flexible with nightshift work.
This role will be accountable for :
- Maintaining and emphasising a healthy and safe work environment through Spark procedures, standards, and legal regulations
- Ordering materials and equipment and organising application of necessary permits.
- Resolving problems, contributing information to strategic plans, and identifying improvements for the project
- Managing and coordinating subcontractor partners
- Ensuring compliance with identified environmental procedures and controls. They will be responsible for checking the site on a regular basis, ensuring the WEMPs are followed, ensuring nominated personnel undertake regular maintenance of controls and complete actions on observations raised, ensuring site personnel attend pre-start meetings and targeted toolbox training (as required).
- Identifying and mitigating risks prior to works commencing, communicating with and engaging relevant stakeholders to control risk and contributing to build a risk management culture.
- Building strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.
- Selecting, training and developing leading hands and ensure the observance of safety, other work standards and fair and reasonable application of industrial agreements.
Qualifications
Trade Qualification or similar.Minimum requirements for this role
2-5 years previous construction experience in a similar role.Substantial Industry experience in Trade and ConstructionTechnical competency and understanding in the area that supervisingSkill in review of design documents, ability to understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement final design plans.Leading Hand experiencePeople and Performance Management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labourIdeally, previous experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractor on a major projectProven experience in successfully delivering large work packagesExcellent awareness of, and attitude toward SafetyHigh level verbal and written communication skillsEnsuring compliance with contract terms and conditions for the projectEffective communication and builds positive relationships with clients, project team, management, suppliers and subcontractorsPrevious experience with budget control and site delivery managementExceptional Team Leadership skillsComputer literacy on MS systems & OutlookWhat we Offer
