A global corporate business with a huge reach is looking for their next events team member within their sourcing team. The business has loads of different internal divisions and the role will work with International and local teams as well. With a great well established team, this role is part of a much larger global sourcing team.
The RoleThe Sourcing Specialist role will report to the Sourcing Lead. This role will be responsible for sourcing venues and locations for events, managing deals with major hotels and venues and ensuring the best price point for budgets for events. Along with sourcing venues and locations this role will also be involved in sourcing suppliers as well.
Key Responsibilities include;Conducting domestic and international site searches, sourcing properties / venues / locations adhering to budgets and parametersRecommend properties / venues / locations taking in to account budget and meeting objectivesPrepare Availability + Cost Comparison Reports that outline properties / venues for meetingsNegotiating on all aspects of hotel / venue contracts on behalf of the team, driving the highest level of cost savings - this will include all aspects of an eventUnderstand attrition guidelines and cancellation penaltiesUtilize Meeting Management Technology tools to manage response processMaintain and report timely and accurate program dataCoordinate all logistics of domestic and international site inspectionsAbility to co-ordinate with internal local and international air and flights teamAd-hoc assistance for the Event Managers / CoordinatorsBuilding and maintaining relationships with all suppliersHotel or Venue sales / event management experience highly regardedAbility to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of management, vendors and clients exhibiting excellent written and verbal communication skillsPossess highly developed intra personal skillsDomestic and International destination / hotel and supplier knowledgeAdvanced contract negotiation skills, must be able to demonstrate driving cost savingsAbility to independently handle multiple projects in a fast paced, time sensitive environmentExperience in budget development and managementFor more information regarding event positions follow usLinkedIn : Apex Event RecruitmentFacebook : Apex Event RecruitmentIf this role doesn't fit but if you are interested in Events positions in Australia, then please register your resume through our website :
