Welcome to Boollam Boollam Aged Care Centre : Nestled within the leafy grounds of Kingston Centre in Cheltenham, Boollam Boollam Aged Care Centre offers a state-of-the-art, purpose-built residential facility dedicated to comfort, dignity, and excellence in aged care. With 150 beds across four thoughtfully designed floors, our modern infrastructure supports a warm, home-like environment—tailored to meet the unique needs of every resident.

About the role : We're seeking a passionate and experienced Chef Manager to lead food service operations based at Boollam Boollam. This full time, ongoing role, working Monday to Friday, provides a highly rewarding leadership opportunity where you'll manage a committed team to deliver exceptional service and care to residents in a culturally safe, inclusive, and modern environment.

As a key member of our Support Services team, your leadership will play a vital role in shaping the experience for our residents.

In addition you will also :

Lead a team of trade cooks and food services assistants in providing good quality meals to the residents.Compliance to relevant standardsAchievement of accreditation for areas of responsibilityAchievement of service key performance indicatorsDelivery of high-quality customer focused servicesManage site wide cateringAbout us : Support Services at Monash Health delivers a wide range of non-clinical services including food services, patient support, portering, cleaning, linen services, pest control, waste management, central production kitchen operations, hygiene services, car parking, and retail services.

About You : To ensure your success in this role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge :

Experience as Chef or Chef Manager with trade qualifications in commercial cookeryPrevious leadership experience supervising / managing a team (Essential)A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service and catering in a healthcare environmentA competent level of verbal & written communication skillsEffective organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitmentsThe ability to maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality, and exercise sound judgmentA "Can Do" attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshootThe ability to develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including staff, volunteers, and customersAbility to understand, follow and implement written instructions and company proceduresAble to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handlingBasic to intermediate computer / digital skillsIn Return : This is a unique opportunity where you'll showcase your passion for supporting older members of our community.
