The Opportunity Bhagwan Marine is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Team based in our Perth CBD office . Own the numbers! Manage financial records, tax compliance, reporting, and month-end processes - plus help drive smarter decisions with budgets and forecasts.

Responsibilities Maintain accurate monthly accounting records and reconciliations, conduct periodic analysis of financial information, and ensure timely and accurate internal and external reporting. Oversee compliance with all relevant tax obligations.

Post journal entries and manage general ledger reconciliations.

Assist in identifying financial risks and implementing controls to mitigate them, in line with company risk management policies.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.

Assist the transactional teams with the month-end close.

Support the FP&A Partner with month end accounting and reporting.

Assist with variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting.

Support preparation of financial data for sustainability, ESG, or carbon reporting initiatives, where relevant.

Assist in preparation of board reporting packs and ad-hoc analysis.

Prepare monthly reports for internal & external stakeholders.

Preparation of tax filings for all entities, to include GST, FBT, PTR and Payroll Tax.

Maintain and improve accounting procedures and controls.

Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax laws.

Provide coverage of relevant key positions in the business unit as required, such as in the event of annual leave or other absences, ensuring that all handover notes are adhered to, and outstanding tasks completed in a timely manner.

Work closely with other business units - including Operations & Commercial, to provide financial and general support that enables better business outcomes.

Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers, ensuring correct depreciation and asset classification.

Qualification Required Tertiary qualification in accountings is essential.

Charted Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is essential.

Requirements : 5+ years of accounting experience with strong tax knowledge and ERP exposure.

Advanced Excel skills and experience building financial reports.

Strong communication, organisational, and multitasking abilities.

Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and process improvement.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

High attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism in all work.
