About The Role :
The Principal Legislation Officer develops legislation and policy for the State taxes, royalties, and grant and subsidies schemes administered by the Commissioner of State Revenue, focusing on complex matters that require a deep understanding of the RevenueWA environment and a positive and effective focus on external customer relationships. The position provides leadership to and inspires excellence in the Legislation Services team by modelling Department of Finance values and aligning the team with departmental objectives, capability requirements and customer needs.
About You :
You are a values driven leader who has relevant experience in developing legislation and policy in a revenue administration context and ensuring the legislation is fit-for-purpose. You have experience in delivering Government priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your high-level communication skills allow you to provide clear and concise advice, influence the design and development of legislation and build relationships with key stakeholders. You are able to critically analyse complex matters and clearly articulate the issues.
This position operates in the context of . This means that you will motivate and enable others to deliver high quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift in thinking from ‘doing’ to supporting others to ‘do good work’; and consideration of present and future needs when allocating time to the team and projects you lead.
