SUPPORT EDUCATION TEACHER - NUMERACYThe Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School, established in 1972 is a kindergarten to year 12 co-educational, non-denominational school located in the eastern suburbs at Warranwood.
- We are seeking a
- 0.8 to FULL TIME LOAD (FTE 0.8 - 1.0) Primary and Secondary Support
- Education Teacher.
- The role entails
- Whole school coordination.
- Ability to answer Enrolment enquiries specific to learning support / support education.
- Working with individuals, small groups or in class support.
- Management of student records specific to Support Education.
- Administering NCCD Census and State support services funding.
- Liaising with paraprofessionals.
- Working with Class teachers.
- Attending meetings with parents and / or teachers when requested.
- Working with a Support Education team of four colleagues.
- The applicant needs to have
- Full Victorian Institute of Teaching (V.I.T) registration
- A strong knowledge of the NCCD and implications for funding.
- A sound understanding of, and commitment to, current Child Safety Standards.
- Be able to implement individualised learning support programs across a variety of year levels.
This includes academic, therapeutic and emotional / behavioural supports.
- A demonstrated ability to work collegially with different faculties within a school environment.
- A demonstrated ability to consult empathetically with parents.
- Training and qualifications in Special Needs Education, Curative Education or Dyslexia will
be looked upon favourably.
