Support Education Teacher - Numeracy

The Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School, established in 1972 is a kindergarten to year 12 co-educational, non-denominational school located in the eastern suburbs at Warranwood.

• We are seeking a
• 0.8 to FULL TIME LOAD (FTE 0.8 - 1.0) Primary and Secondary Support
• Education Teacher.
• The role entails
• Whole school coordination.
• Ability to answer Enrolment enquiries specific to learning support / support education.
• Working with individuals, small groups or in class support.
• Management of student records specific to Support Education.
• Administering NCCD Census and State support services funding.
• Liaising with paraprofessionals.
• Working with Class teachers.
• Attending meetings with parents and / or teachers when requested.
• Working with a Support Education team of four colleagues.
• The applicant needs to have
• Full Victorian Institute of Teaching (V.I.T) registration
• A strong knowledge of the NCCD and implications for funding.
• A sound understanding of, and commitment to, current Child Safety Standards.
• Be able to implement individualised learning support programs across a variety of year levels.

This includes academic, therapeutic and emotional / behavioural supports.

• A demonstrated ability to work collegially with different faculties within a school environment.
• A demonstrated ability to consult empathetically with parents.
• Training and qualifications in Special Needs Education, Curative Education or Dyslexia will

be looked upon favourably.
