This role will lead the Health and Safety team ensuring a consistent approach to the development and implementation of Global and National H&S programs and projects across SGS Australia
Provide professional H&S advice and support, and engage, influence and coach the workforce to promote continual development and improvement in the safety culture.Ensure effective safety and health risk management strategies, practices and services are applied and that associated support services are effectively developed and integrated across the business.Confirm adequate H&S support and coverage is provided across business lines and States.Ensure each business line / facility have the necessary H&S plans, including but not limited to Safety Management Plan, Business Continuity Plan, Emergency Management Plans.Give effective communication and consultation processes regarding health and safety is provided throughout the business in a timely manner.Promote recruitment and development of H&S resources across the business including Safety and Health Representatives, First Aiders, Wardens and that they are supported in their roles.Ensure incident investigations are completed as required, identifying root causes and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Ensure all investigations and actions are entered into Crystal and monitored for effectiveness.Conduct regular reviews with management teams and workforce to determine suitability of processes, risk management, safety behaviours, field inspections and system audits.Deal with the completion of internal H&S audits of sites on a scheduled basis.QualificationsCompletion of a formal tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety (degree or post graduate qualification), and / or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and / or education / training with a Diploma in health and safety as a minimum.Knowledge and experience in laboratory safety preferred but not essential.Demonstrated sound knowledge of Australian legislation relating to Occupational Health & Safety and subsidiary documents such as standards and Codes of Practice.Experience in leading high performing teams.Previous experience in a similar position with multi-business activity.National Police Clearance.Full Driving Licence.Competence in using modern business technology.Additional Information
