We are looking for a strong Commercial Analyst with Activity Based Costing and SaaS industry experience to help us prepare for the next stage of our scale-up lifecycle. As the first dedicated Commercial Analyst at CES you will play a pivotal role in shaping our future success by providing reporting, business insights and strategic recommendations to help drive efficiency and productivity and improve financial outcomes across the business.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll partner primarily with our Finance and IT teams to facilitate accurate cost tracking, identify investment areas, and prevent revenue leakage across BAU and project activities.
You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders to deeply understand cost and revenue drivers, improve accuracy of activity-based costing, and employ allocation methods tailored to our SaaS product-and-service based business model.

Deliver commercial insights and recommendations to management (including executive level) regarding opportunities, risks and actions for business enhancement.
Build an in-depth understanding of business operations, conducting analyses of cost and revenue drivers of products and services and enabling commercial decisions based on true cost to serve.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and drive opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue leakage mitigation and ensure accurate capture of costs per Activity Based costing.
Regular reporting, analysis and monitoring of key metrics and business targets for resource management, revenue and SaaS Platform overages, using business intelligence tools (Power BI).
Analysis of large value vendor contracts, providing value-add insights for commercial decision-making, and supporting compliance with contractual obligations.
Track and maintain project estimates, ensuring accuracy of rates, budgets, resource allocation and costs.
Build strong relationships across departments, supporting business areas as required eg forecasting and variance analysis for Finance.
5+ years' experience in a Finance or Commercial Analyst role (or similar).
Experience with Activity-Based Costing models is a must-have.
Experience as a Commercial or Finance Analyst in a software development company / sector would be a strong advantage
Analytical thinker with a curious mindset and strong commercial acumen.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to extract and present commercial insights from financial data.
Familiarity with commercial contracts.
Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills across all business levels.
Self-starter, able to work well autonomously and in teams
Resilient and adaptable to change in a dynamic environment.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or equivalent experience (CPA / CA qualifications preferred).
Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Power BI an advantage!
Experience in a similar SaaS and / or managed services business
Previous exposure using Jira and Tempo
