- Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized support to individuals with disabilities in various settings, including their homes, community centers, and other relevant environments.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
- Implement person-centered support plans tailored to the individual needs and goals of each client.
- Support clients in developing essential life skills and fostering independence in daily activities.
- Effectively manage challenging behaviors with a proactive and positive approach, utilizing appropriate strategies and techniques.
- Collaborate with other members of the support team, including families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure the holistic well-being of clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines governing disability support services.
- Requirements
- Minimum of CERT III in Disability or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working with individuals with Autism and Behavior of Concern is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with clients and their families.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays, based on the needs of the clients.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations and adapt to changing circumstances.
- A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred.
