Family therapist - Post separation

Papaleo Associates is a prominent psychology practice working across family law cases within Australia, with its head office based in Kew, Victoria. The organisation provides single expert and expert witness input into complex family law cases with clients who present with mental illness and / or personality disturbance. Most cases comprise of high-conflict separation with factors such as parental alienation, estrangement, family violence, substance abuse or sexual violence implicated.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced family therapist (psychologist or social worker) to provide court reportable services to individuals, couples, and families experiencing high conflict, emotional distress and adjustment difficulties following relationship breakdown. The role focuses on helping separated parents and their children manage conflict, rebuild communication, and support the wellbeing of all family members in post-separation and co-parenting contexts.

The successful candidate will undertake joint work with our resident child therapist in most instances to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve best outcomes for clients. Seeking 0.2-0.4 FTE.

As well as having clinical experience, the person for this role will need to be flexible, engaging and have a high level of emotional intelligence.

We will offer support, supervision, skill development, and peer supervision.

Requirements

You will have tertiary qualifications in psychology or social work (Masters) or counselling (Masters). Professional registration with AHPRA, PACFA, AASW, or ACA is essential.
