Our government-based client is looking for an EL1 to join their team within the Disbursement section and the Levies and Innovation Policy section for a 12-month contract. This position offers an opportunity to work on a once-in-a-lifetime reform of agricultural legislation.
Strong knowledge or experience in legislative reform, policy and legislation development, and legislative processes is highly desirable. The right person will have a background in law, along with a Baseline Security clearance.
The main duties of this position include but are not limited toLed the development of policy and legislation, particularly related to the current levy recipient body legislation.Review existing legislation and historical levies policies to shape a new legislative framework.Led research and analysis to inform policy papers and consultation materials.Assessing industry feedback or consideration in the drafting processManaging industry consultation processes.Managing the preparation of internal and ministerial briefs, reports, and policy papers.Liaising with other policy, regulatory, and operational areas in the department across the government.Ability to research and analyse complex information to inform decisions.Ability to manage competing priorities.Strong written and communication skills.Working with a focus.Ability to provide sound advice on complex matters to the executive and the minister.Ability to influence outcomes.Ability to manage strategic directions while achieving team outcomes.Experience working in a policy / legislative reform role.Either currently working within government or previous experience and must have a Baseline Security clearanceA law degree (desirable)Applications close Thursday, 9th June.
