The Policy & Workplace Relations team plays a pivotal role at the University by providing high-quality workplace relations advice, solutions, and strategies. Our team is committed to delivering policies, processes, and systems that align with and support the University's broader objectives.
Our work encompasses a diverse range of functions, including :
Providing expert advice on workplace relations matters.- Managing complex cases, such as those involving conduct, performance, organizational change, and inherent requirements.- Advocating on behalf of the University in both internal and external settings.- Developing and drafting workplace policies, processes, and contractual documents.- Supporting enterprise bargaining initiatives and negotiations.- Coaching and mentoring stakeholders to build internal capabilities.- Leading strategy and project development in alignment with organizational goals.
As a Principal Advisor, you will deliver expert support across a range of employee relations (ER) issues, proactively managing cases related to conduct, performance, change, and inherent requirements. With a focus on root-cause analysis and big-picture assessment, you will develop tailored resolution strategies in collaboration with managers, executive stakeholders, and People Partners.

The Operations Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components that are integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities. The Portfolio incorporates the following business units : Governance, Legal & Strategic Operations, Finance, Procurement, People, Enterprise Project & Business Performance, Information and Technology Services, Property Services, and the Office of the Chief Operating Officer.
