About the role
Working across the business your role as a Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Specialist will see you responsible for identifying and developing relationships with external supply partners to deliver strategic and commercially effective solutions for Abergeldie across a wide variety of construction sectors.
Your main activities include proactively collaborating with internal business customers to understand medium to long term business requirements, diagnosing, validating and maximising grouped sourcing opportunities and executing end-to-end strategic sourcing events from analysis, RFT development, evaluation, selection and contract delivery.
Key accountabilities but not limited to
- Develops effective procurement category and sourcing strategies by analysing business needs, building market intelligence, developing, and implementing action plans
- Diagnosis, validation and maximisation of potential grouped sourcing opportunities
- Analyse current spend data and thoroughly understand portfolio requirements for each strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Define sourcing strategies to maximise leverage opportunities through creative and / or joint / co-operative or service solutions
- Lead the development of new supplier networks in regional areas to support operational teams
- Review and develop comprehensive RFI / RFQ / RFT / RFP documents, including non-price elements such as capability questionnaires
- Support tender processes to ensure best practice procurement processes including working with the pre-contracts team in relation to effective procurement packaging and working with suppliers to clarify requirements and process
- Develop transition and change management plans in partnership with managers and support the implementation and transition of strategic sourcing practices within the business
- Skills and experience
- Proven strategic sourcing experience (structured and fact-based) in a construction, commercial or other large organisational settings
- Proven ability to develop and maintain supplier networks and relationships, preferably with the construction industry
- Capability to successfully develop and execute sourcing strategies, tender processes, supplier evaluations and negotiation strategies to deliver significant value
- Demonstrated savings from strategic or leveraged spending programs
- Strong contract development and supplier negotiation experience
- Advanced relationship development and stakeholder management, influencing skills and written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding and experience in implementing change management processes within a business
- Ability to work collaboratively with operational teams managers to ensure that sourcing events align to and compliment business unit strategies / plans
- A high level of competency using Excel and Procurement Systems and sound analytical capabilities
- Strong contract development experience and understanding of commercial implication of key legal clauses.
