The RoleThe Lead Organisational Design Specialist is responsible for driving the delivery of initiatives that support identified groups undergoing organisational change and engages with key stakeholders to develop fit for purpose organisation designs aligned to strategic and service delivery models.
The role will provide advisory and design services to facilitate the development of operating model and organisational structures, as well as job design, role profiling and capability definition.
- Responsibilities include
- Lead the organisation design workshops to ensure organisational structures and roles are designed to support the future direction and sustainability of the Department.
- Ensure the use of department endorsed organisational design principles and practices to deliver outputs that are aligned to both strategy and desired culture.
- Lead the design and review of organisational structures and operating models to ensure the right structures, accountabilities and capabilities exist to enable the success of a functional area.
- Build and sustain working partnerships and strong engagement with sponsors and their key stakeholders through regular, constructive conversations and by providing trusted and accurate advice within the parameters of the organisational design program to meet strategic planning objectives and achieve project outcomes.
- Identify potential areas of risk, developing and implementing a range of initiatives and strategies to ensure mitigation plans are in place.
- Work with change and implementation teams, and business stakeholders to ensure organisational transition processes accurately reflect design intentions.
- Identify and capture project learnings and documents for organisational knowledge sharing and training.
- Reflect on the Department's values in the way you work and abide by policies and procedures to ensure a safe, healthy and inclusive work environment.
- About you
- Strong experience in organisation design, and strong understanding of contemporary organisational development practices, based on emerging issues and trends.
- Experience in designing and implementing organisation design solutions for large, complex organisations or government agencies as an internal role and / or through external consultancy.
- Experience in delivery of integrated advice and services in a project management environment.
- Experience in scoping, planning, managing, delivering and evaluating large scale and complex projects.
- Tertiary qualification in either Organisational Psychology, Human Resources, Business, or a similar field or an equivalent combination of formal qualifications and experience.
