What does the role involve?
key responsibilities included but not limited to the following :
- Processing of high-volume payroll functions across our diverse range of projects (approximately 9 pay runs fortnightly)
- Execute project-based end to end payroll processing with the ability to interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreement.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data.
- Administer and reconcile monthly payroll lodgements activities such as payroll tax, SGC, child support, Portable Long service leave and Superannuation payments.
- Calculate and reconcile time sheet to reflect R&R Super, Return to Work, allowances and site uplift.
- Collaborate with all key stakeholders on payroll-related matters resolving all payroll inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain Pay Rate Matrix and monthly reporting of payroll activities.
- Provide support in the implementation of a new payroll system.
- Perform adhoc duties outside of pay cycle.
What are we looking for?
- Certificate IV above in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Proven experience in payroll processing, demonstrating a strong understanding of payroll principles and procedures especially in the mining sector.
- Proficiency in payroll software, especially WageEasy.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Experience in awards and EBA interpretation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
